This course analyzes a range of different kinds of poetry—narrative, lyric, dramatic, conceptual—their techniques, formal vocabularies and rich and varied traditions. Students will listen to spoken and performed poems and participate in forum discussion of the texts and performances in examining how pleasure (or displeasure) is produced.
Learning Management System (LMS) for this course is Moodle. This course utilizes an asynchronous mode of learning (other than forums, there is no set meeting time for the class. Students may access & complete course material at their own convenience).
