The Student Flight Pass allows international students to travel between school and home more often than ever! This convenient and cost effective package includes one-way flight credits in either Standard or Flex that can be used to travel to international destinations.

Students should make sure to use their own Aeroplan Number to purchase their Student Pass - or give it to their parents if they are purchasing it.

When to Arrive

We suggest you arrive in Vancouver two to four weeks before the beginning of your program. Allow yourself time to get familiar with the city and transportation system, organize your accommodation, open a bank account and set up cellphone service. Most importantly, you need to attend the New Student Orientation one week before your program start.

Vancouver Transportation Made Easy

Traveling to and from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) can conveniently be done via public transportation on the SkyTrain via Canada Line or with a taxi.

SkyTrain fare from YVR starts from $8.00 to $10.75, depending on your destination. Taxi fares leaving from YVR to the downtown Vancouver peninsula run around $40-$50.

Currency Exchange at the Airport

YVR includes exchange offices that will allow you to exchange your money into Canadian currency. We do, however, strongly recommend you arrive with a credit card in case these offices are closed when you arrive. It is also recommended to travel with US dollar for any emergency expenses. We also recommended that you acquire Canadian currency before you leave your home country. Keep in mind that it is best to keep all your cash, traveler's cheques, and essential documents on board with you and not in your check-in luggage. Most airlines have strict regulations regarding cargo and carry-on luggage. Please refer directly to your airline for complete details.

What to bring for Your Stay

Here’s the great news – Canada has everything you'll need in terms of comforts and cuisine. You'll find specialty grocery stores with foods from around the world at reasonable prices. But there are several essential documents you must bring:

• A Valid Passport
• Acceptance letter from LaSalle College
• Student Visa
• Any original document required by the College for your admission
• International driver's license (not necessary, but if you want to drive, please request with your local transport authorities before you leave)
• Medical report and prescriptions (if applicable)

Electronic Devices

Canada uses the nominal tension of 110 volts with an alternating current of 60 watts. If your country has a different voltage, be sure to get an adapter for your electronic devices. Be sure to inquire about what are the best solutions for you.
