David Wray holds a BA in Social Anthropology from York University, and a MA in Media and Technology Studies Education from UBC. He has been fortunate enough to pursue a wide range of opportunities, from teaching English in Taiwan, to studying Futures Studies for a year at Turku University in Finland. While taking a break from being a student himself, he remains active in study while teaching a variety of courses at LaSalle College Vancouver. He has goals to pursue a PhD in the future with a focus on future cultures, post-colonialism, and social technologies.
While pursuing academic interests, David held a decade-long career in the hospitality industry, having worked as a server, front-of-house manager, activity coordinator and as a tour-guide. He taught tourism and hospitality for over 3 years prior to being welcomed to LaSalle.
Finally, in one more direction, David has always held a passion for the performing arts. He performed in stage musicals, theatre, improv clubs, as well as in some student short films. For a year during the Pandemic, he put together a small online trivia business to keep morale up for friends, family, and anyone who wanted to join. He will never stop performing and is always ready for his next opportunity to shine.
