Primary Responsibilities: Assisting the Senior Interior Designer in all phases and process of the design (Commercial Buildings: Shopping malls, Offices, Restaurants, Retail Stores). Elaboration of construction, BP, Tender plans, IFC drawings (Commercial Buildings). Crossover design position between the Architectural and Interior Design departments.

Describe a Typical Work Day:

I start the day checking and replying e-mails from clients, consultants. Start the official day with a meeting with senior designer to plan the day and dead lines; start working on design, construction documents, BP applications, meetings with clients and representatives(sales), close the day with the daily report of work done.


What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?

Being part of the design and decision process since the beginning of the projects.


What do you enjoy the most about your career?

DESIGN and the trust built with the senior designers to allow me to be part of the design process in every project.


What are your creative inspirations or influences? Who are your heroes?

My main creative inspirations are Norman Foster and Frank Lloyd Wright.


How did your education at LaSalle College Vancouver help prepare you for your career?

I had all the necessary tools to succeed in the industry (software knowledge, instructors well prepared and with a lot of experience in the industry, theoretical and practical knowledge).


What advice do you have for people beginning their careers in your profession?

This career is not only being creative, everything we do in life requires creativity, it is about be consistent. Live, breathe and dream about design and always have in mind that we are the uncommon people that works for the common people ( always thinking in 3D, when we go to a restaurant and everybody else spend their time taking pictures to their food we are looking up to the ceiling, the lighting, the finishes, the colours of the walls, the perception of the space, how people interact in specific areas, etc).
